Affecting one-third of women globally, anemia undermines women’s cognitive development, increases their risk of infections and makes pregnancy more dangerous for both them and their baby. Not only does this limit womens’ ability to learn and to thrive, it has profound repercussions for the wellbeing of their families, societies and economies at large.
